OUR BOROUGH SHOP IS NOW OPEN!
We are delighted to announce that our new shop at Borough Market is now open. The shop was formally opened at 7.15pm on Tuesday 5th April 2023, by Mr Tom Parker Bowles, who made a short but passionate speech about our farm and produce, before cutting the red ribbon! The shop is located at one of the entrance points to Borough Market, in Stoney Street, opposite the Wheatsheaf Pub. If you're in London at all, do pop in and say hello! We're also making our own raw ice cream on site which is proving very popular. It may be the world's only raw ice cream! We're currently producing 4 flavours: Greek Yoghurt; Strawberry and Yoghurt; Crème Fraiche; and Chocolate & Buttermilk. The shop is open 6 days per week, and is closed on Mondays.
A VERY SAD GOODBYE
After more than 5 years working at Hook & Son, Marco Castro is leaving to return to Portugal. Initially Marco came to us as a milk rounds-man, but quickly moved on to become our Production Manager. Marco's management and knowledge have been a major reason behind Hook & Son turning itself around from being in deep financial trouble after losing our TB free status in 2018, to the expanding business it is today. Marco has overseen not only the increase in production, but also the introduction of several new products, such as raw yoghurt, crème fraiche and more recently, our raw ice cream. Marco will be greatly missed by all of us at Hook & Son, but we all wish him the very best for his move back to Portugal.
